This guide provides a comprehensive framework for streamlining lab operations and enhancing data management and collaboration within Scispot. By following these structured steps for updating Labsheets, creating SOP templates, designing experiments, and ensuring selective access, researchers can significantly improve efficiency and maintain high standards of data integrity and security.
Let's get started!
A. Keep your MS Queue data (Sample) Labsheet updated:
Log in to your account
Click 'Labsheet' from the left navigation bar
You need to upload your production data in your MS Queue Labsheet
Click 'Create New', and opt for 'Import'
Easily import your Google Sheets or CSV having your sample information from the production team into already existing MS Queue Labsheet
6. You can also create your new rows inside MS Queue Labsheet using API. Check it here: https://docs.scispot.com
B. Create templates for your SOPs
Go to your left navigation bar.
Open the 'Labspace' dropdown menu
Select 'Templates' to view the Template Library.
Click '+ Create Template'.
Select the 'Protocol Template' option and curate your templates for SOP 2, SOP 33, SOP 169, etc.
Name your template, hit 'Next', and confirm by clicking the 'Create' button.
C. Design your experiments for "Hydrolysate' or 'TMT' with sample details and SOPs
Go to your left navigation bar.
Select 'Labspace'.
Click '+ Create New Labspace'.
Enter the name of your Labspace, Eg: Hydrolysate
Open your Labspace by clicking on it.
Click the '+ Create New' tab.
Select 'Folder' and name your folder to help organize and sort your different projects, Eg: Bioprospection
Within your 'Folder', click '+ Create New' and then 'Experiment' to create experiments like "Hydrolysate_Sample Preparation" to curate the end-to-end process that will bundle up your SOPs.
Once created, enter your objective.
Bring your specific sample details from MS Queue Labsheet by typing '\Labsheet', then select the preferred Labsheet followed by specific rows.
Under the 'Protocol' section, bring your already created SOP templates by typing '\Protocol', then typing the name of the SOP and selecting the specific one. Eg. SOP 169, or SOP 2.
This will create a copy of your SOP template so that if you make any changes to this embedded SOP, it will not modify your original one.
Once done, go to the result section and embed the output Labsheet table by typing '\Labsheet' and selecting Orbitrap Lumos Output Labsheet, followed by the specific samples associated with this experiment.
You can also add comments or new rows to your embedded rows from Labsheet, and that will auto-update your master MS Queue Labsheet.
You can even templatize the "Hydrolysate_Sample Preparation" experiment by clicking the 3 dots and opting for the templatize option.
16. Once templatized you can use this template to create a new experiment for your next run.
17. Similar to the above-mentioned steps whenever you are ready to create a new experiment for 'Hydrolysate_Sample Preparation' now you can use the experiment template.
18. Open your preferred 'Labspace'.
19. Click 'Create Experiments'.
20. Name your experiment as "Hydrlysate_Sample Preparation_06 Mar"
21. From the template option select the right template and hit the confirm button.
22. This creates a copy of the "Hydrolysate_Sample Preparation" template for you.
D. Selective access to the 'Hydrolysate_ Sample Preparation' after completion of all required steps
After execution, you can make your 'Hydrolysate_Sample Preparation page' private by clicking the 3 dots from the top right corner, where you can selectively give access to the team as viewers.
No one can edit or change any details, except the Super Admins.
You can also assign a reviewer to review all your SOPs and do a sign-off on this particular sample preparation process.
Even a Supervisor can be assigned who can lock and unlock the page whenever required.
Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) within your 'Bioprospection' folder as needed. This ensures that team members have appropriate access levels, safeguarding sensitive data and processes. To learn more, check here.
By adopting the outlined steps in Scispot, you can significantly streamline your workflows and elevate data management, ensuring both efficiency and compliance. This guide serves as a cornerstone for enhancing laboratory operations and fostering a collaborative, secure research environment.
