Function: Scispot’s Inventory Automation flow connects Protocol completion with inventory management. AI automatically detects embedded samples in a Protocol and updates their quantities in Labsheets, ensuring accurate, real-time tracking of consumed or added inventory.

Use Case: Imagine you have to complete an ELISA protocol; our protocol page can automatically trigger Inventory Automation to automatically deduct the volumes of reagents consumed and add newly prepared buffers. This saves you time, reduces manual errors, and keeps inventory records accurate in just a few clicks.

How to Use Inventory Automation

  1. Access the Menu

    • After completing all steps in a Protocol, the Inventory Automation menu appears automatically.

    • You can also open it anytime by clicking the three vertical dots on the Protocol page and selecting Inventory Automation.

  2. Choose Inventory Action

    • Select whether you want to Consume or Add inventory.

  1. AI Sample Detection

    • Scispot AI scans the Protocol and lists embedded samples that may be affected.

    • Although any sample can be added, only samples from Labsheets containing Quantity, Quantity Left, and Quantity Consumed columns will be affected.

    • Alternatively, you can Search for the Samples Manually and choose which location you want to use.

  2. Review and Select Samples

    • Check the samples you want included in the update.

Inventory Consumption

  1. Select the items you want to consume.

  2. For each item, enter a name, consumption quantity, and an Associated Project/Study/Budget ID.

  3. Click Consume.

  4. The items are deducted from inventory.

Inventory Addition

  1. Select the items you want to add.

  2. For each item, enter the quantity to be added.

  3. Click Add.
