Function: Scispot AI enables you to create new Labsheets directly from spreadsheet files such as .csv, .xlsx, or Google Sheets. It automatically preserves recorded data and structures the Labsheet according to the spreadsheet’s columns.
Use Case: If you've already got your experimental results saved in another format like .csv, Excel, or even Google Sheets, you can quickly import all your work into Scispot without much hassle. The data is instantly transformed into a Labsheet.
How to Create a Labsheet from a Spreadsheet
Go to Labsheets and click + Create > New Labsheet.
Select Import File.
Upload a supported file from your computer or import directly from Google Sheets.
Enter a name and description for the Labsheet.
Review the generated column names and data types. If anything looks off, don’t worry—you can edit the Labsheet later as usual.
Click create to create your Labsheet.
How to Import Spreadsheet rows into an Existing Labsheet
Say you've already got an existing Labsheet but want to import rows from a spreadsheet file into it. Fortunately, that's also easy to do with our Scispot AI.
In an existing Labsheet, click Import.
Upload your file as normal and click Next.
The AI does its best to match the Spreadsheet's columns to the existing Labsheet's columns. You can review the mapping to see if it is appropriate. If there are extraneous columns, you can choose whether to create these columns by accepting or rejecting the AI's suggestions.
