Function: Scispot’s AI-powered tools allow you to quickly generate structured protocols either by uploading a document or by providing a simple prompt. This eliminates the need to rewrite existing procedures.
Use Case: Let's say you've already got your SOP in PDF or Microsoft Word format. Instead of having to copy every single step into a Labspace Protocol, you can upload that file and Scispot’s AI will convert this into a structured, editable protocol. Alternatively, if you've got a description of the procedure, you can give it to the AI and from that prompt, it will generate your protocol.
How to Generate a Protocol with AI
Step 1: Start from the Dashboard
Click Create Protocol with AI.
Choose either Import from a file or Generate with AI.
Step 2: Choose your creation method
Generate from File:
Upload a document from your computer (.docx, .pdf, or .txt).
The AI automatically converts it into a structured protocol.
Click Generate Protocol to create the draft.
Generate from AI:
Enter a description of your experiment or procedure into the prompt field.
If you've already have supporting documentation like a list of equipment, you can optionally supplement the prompt with supporting documents as a reference file so the AI can create a more accurate protocol.
Click Generate with AI to create the protocol.
Step 4: Review and Edit
Scroll down to preview the generated protocol. Don't worry if there are things you want to change, you'll be able to edit the Protocol later.
Step 5: Finalize the Protocol
Choose to save as a new protocol or as a template.
Select the Labspace where you want the protocol stored.
Click Finalize this Protocol. You’ll be redirected to the chosen Labspace with your new protocol ready to use.
