Function: Collaboration mode in Scispot is enabled by default, allowing all team members to contribute to a page in a Labspace. For more control, you can make a page private and set custom permissions so that only selected members of your organization can view or edit it.

Use Case: A researcher drafting a new experimental protocol may want feedback from only a small subgroup before sharing it with others. By making the page private and restricting access, the researcher can collaborate closely with the chosen team while keeping the work-in-progress hidden from the rest of the lab.

To make a page private:

  • Go to the top right corner of the page and click Share

  • Check the box for Make this a private page

  • Note that making pages private is permanent and cannot be reverted in the future. Click Confirm

When you click on Share again in the top right corner, you will have the option to invite others using their name or email. Enter their name to invite them to the page. You can set them to either an Editor or Viewer.

Alternatively you can share the link to others, and they can request access by clicking the link.

Once you make a page private, you can no longer assign specific users using Assign Users.
