Function: When adding samples to a manifest in Scispot, you can choose the layout direction for how the samples are inserted.

Use Case: A researcher preparing a manifest can select whether samples are arranged by rows or columns to match their lab’s processing method.

To change the way samples are added:

  • Select Add Samples

  • Choose your samples in Choose Samples

  • Under Auto Layout on the left side of the menu select the horizontal arrow or vertical arrow

  • Click Assign Samples

  • Your samples will be inserted in the direction specified

The layout direction of how existing samples are arranged can also be modified directly using the Auto Layout feature. To change the layout from horizontal to vertical and vice-versa:

  • Select Auto Layout

  • Choose the direction you want the samples to be arranged

  • Click Confirm

  • Existing samples will be rearranged in the specified direction

Existing samples will also be rearranged in the direction specified. Note that the strict ordering of existing samples is preserved, but empty spaces between samples will be removed; the previous samples will be rearranged to take up a consecutive space.
